Revolutionize Your Fecal Diagnostic Technology

Get ready to streamline collection and processing of stool samples with a transformative, new rapid diagnostic system that doesn’t require sample or reagent refrigeration. Not only is it easy and accurate; it’s cheaper than the competition.

BND Inc. is delighted to offer Fecal immunochemical testing (FIT) employing the Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100, in conjunction with the Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100 FIT test cartridge and sample collection tube, an automated, rapid detection system.

Why Do FIT Testing?

FIT, which checks for tiny amounts of blood in the stool, is increasingly important in Canada, because gastrointestinal bleeding is an indicator of colorectal cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society calls it the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men and the third most common in women. The Society estimates that one in 16 Canadian men will develop colorectal cancer during their lifetime and one in 34 will die from it; for women, one in 19 will develop it and one in 40 will die as a result.

Luckily, when detected and treated early, colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable and curable of all cancers. FIT screening has become more common nationwide, and the rate of new cases in Canada continues to decline. By using the new Hemosure® system, hospitals and medical testing facilities can ensure rapid, accurate test results, allowing physicians to provide prompt feedback and treatment to their patients.

The system is also integration ready and designed for compatibility with any HL7 laboratory information system (LIS), the modern standard.

Quick, Accurate Results

Together, the Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100 and the Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100 FIT test cartridge and sample collection tube offer diagnosticians a fully automated system that allows them to attend to other tasks while the tests are being processed. Test results are available in five minutes and the system works at a rapid clip, processing up to 100 samples per hour. The Accu-Reader®’s 10-inch touch screen displays real-time testing information. You can view test results on the screen, print them or transfer them to your LIS  — or do all three!

You can also count on test results that you can trust. A recent multi-site prospective clinical study determined that the Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100 has a sensitivity of 98.63 per cent and a specificity of 98.71 per cent.

In addition, the equipment is easy to maintain. The Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100 uses semi-solid reagents, so there is no need to wash the machine daily or dispose of liquid waste.

Patient-and User-Friendly

Patients will find it easy to collect a stool sample using the Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100 FIT sample collection tubes. The tubes provide clear instructions for collecting the appropriate sample quantity and are flat for easy labelling and simple mailing. Additionally, the tubes holding samples can remain at room temperature for two weeks, making them practical and reliable to use.

Installation of the Hemosure® Accu-Reader® A100 system is simple; the company’s product specialist will instal it in your lab and conduct on-site operator training. The company also has refresher videos available for operators, and online technical support is always available through a hotline, via email or with on-site visits.
